Invitation & Scope

The 14th International Conference on Electroanalysis, ESEAC 2012, is a continuation of the successful conference series that started in 1986 in Dublin and was initiated and chaired by Prof. Malcolm R. Smyth. These biannual conferences have become recognized worldwide as distinguished electroanalytical meetings in the frame of the European Society for Electroanalytical Chemistry. The conferences cover practically all aspects of modern as well as classical electroanalysis, ranging from theoretical approaches to practical applications in different fields. Special attention is also devoted to younger researchers/scientists who face the responsible task of continuing this great tradition while simultaneously providing new ideas in the continuously growing research area of electroanalytical chemistry.

The 2012 conference will be organized in Slovenia, on the sunny side of the Alps. The venue of the meeting is the beautiful seaside resort of Bernardin, which is situated between Portotož and the idyllic medieval Mediterranean town of Piran. It is our great honor to host this prestigious conference, and we will endeavor to provide a warm atmosphere, fulfill your scientific expectations, and present you with the possibility of tasting the spirit of this region.

The 14th International Conference on Electroanalysis will cover different aspects of electroanalytical chemistry, which will be presented in the frame of four main topics:

- Theory and frontier aspects of modern electroanalysis
- Nano- and micro-scale electrochemical systems and devices
- Electroanalysis in Industrial, Environmental and Clinical Chemistry
- Electrochemical sensors and biosensors.

Sadly, some of our dear colleagues and friends are no longer with us; hence, the memorial symposium "Electrochemical sensors and biosensors" will be dedicated to Prof. Lucas Hernández who was also a member of the Scientific Committee of the last conference held in Gijon (Spain).

We would also like to welcome the representatives from the industry to present their latest products. We are sure that we can achieve very positive dialog, new business opportunities and networking.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I am glad to invite you to Portorož,

dr. Samo Hočevar, Chairman of the Organizing Committee
